Two years down, A Lifetime to Go!!
Friday was the celebration of the big 2 years!! It seems like we have been married forever and yet 2 years is nothing. Must be because we are so in love that we act like newly weds all the time. I wonder if that will change when the baby comes? Anyway, here's to the 2 best years of our lives....so far!

A New Definition to March Madness!!
I guess the Lord really really wants us to have a child because despite preventative methods, we are expecting again! I have had a hard time announcing this one because of our history, but I really can't hide it anymore as I am almost 16 weeks along and have a definite little baby bump! We found out in Texas that I was pregnant but didn't think too much of it because we were so used to miscarrying that we thought this one would just pass as well. We waited for a week, and then another and then it became a month, and then another, and here we are! I had been feeling really sick so finally called the doctor and got an appointment. We absolutely LOVE our doctor! She has been so good with us and has taken extra care that everything with this pregnancy is going well. The first visit she did an ultrasound and said the baby looks perfect! But she also wanted us to come back a couple weeks later and do another ultrasound and check up just to make sure everything was fine considering our history. We waited and went back in and she checked out everything very thoroughly again and did another ultrasound. The baby was still perfect and kicking up a storm! At that point she said our chance of miscarrying was decreased by 85% and the longer I went, the better and better chance we had. Today we had another appointment and heard the heartbeat. It was very strong and clear. She told us today that our chance of miscarrying was very unlikely because the heart sounded so good. I was shocked by the end of the visit because today it all became real for me. When we had the ultrasounds I really couldn't see that well because there was a bad glare and a bad angle. So this appointment made it real. I don't know what to think.
I am doing well physically except I still tend to get tired quick and bending over is becoming harder. (What's it gonna be like at 9 months?) Originally the baby was due on March 16th but on the first ultrasound the baby was measuring about 6 days younger so the date was pushed back to March 22. Obviously whatever nature decides will happen but it will be interesting to see which is closer.
This is the first ultrasound where the baby was measuring smaller than the original due date, measuring at 9 weeks 4 days.

This is me at 14 weeks. See what I mean about the baby bump? This was actually taken about a week and a half ago and I am even bigger today. I had been wearing baggy shirts so the tummy was mostly hidden for a while, but I can't really do that anymore. The baggy shirts aren't that much help.

The Wager-Bailey Graduation
Last night we went to Marta's house for a graduation party for me. I was expecting something pretty low key but little did I know what I was in for. There was a program, speakers, and the graduation walk all for me!!!! It was so much fun and I loved all of it! Thank you so much to Krystal, Marta and Ed for being so wonderful to me. And thank you to my family in Texas. I know you would have loved being here and we missed you all! I love you all so much. And now for the highlights of the evening....
They had me wear a cap and everything. If only I had brought my robe....

The Program for the evening. You couldn't read the program when it was all on one page so I broke it up into half pages. It was too good not to let everyone read it

Krystal did an awesome job of conducting the ceremony

AWWWW..... Such a beautiful speech by the best guy in the whole world

I was all excited to hear what he had to say

This was my "Change the World with my Degree" speech! I feel like I look humongous in this picture. It was just a bad angle I think....I hope... :/

The introduction to the walk
The graduation walk...it was hilarious that they had me do this. I loved it!
Being presented with my degree. It's so amazing being valedictorian and getting my very own ceremony!!

And finally the end of a fantastic ceremony.

And those in attendance......
Ed and Marta

Jennifer and Jan (I don't know who it was Jennifer had with her)

Felipe, Jordan, and Felicia is in the background. We didn't get a good picture of her unfortunately.

Steve and Lon

And finally Ernesto and Amanda

And as if the night couldn't get any better....Marta and Krystal made empanadas.

Thanks again for an incredible night!! You are all fantastic and I appreciate everything!

The Most Expensive Piece of Paper We Own
Yes it is true!!!! I came home from working out yesterday and Kelvin was already home from school and said he had a surprise for me. He handed me a thin cardboard envelope and when I looked inside I started jumping up and down when I found this.....

Yep, it is finally here. The most expensive piece of paper we own to this date! At least that's what Kelvin laughed and said when we got it. But it's finally mine after all my hard work. I'm so proud to say I am a college graduate! I will get my nursing degree in a few years after Kelvin is finished with school and we have had a chance to settle down a bit in a career.
I also got a job a couple weeks ago. I am working with the University of Utah's clinics. They have 11 of them and I am responsible to take messages for all the doctors and nurses, send in refill requests, give lab results back, etc. When you do it for 11 different clinics, it can get a little daunting, but I love it! I work part time which has been great for me right now. Hopefully I can work my way into 3/4 time. It would only be an extra hour a day and I would get AWESOME benefits. They really treat their employee's well.
Also a couple of weeks ago we went to see the Scarlet Pimpernel at the Hale Center Theater in West Valley. It was so awesome! It is my favorite play. I was a little disappointed that they changed some of the songs and some of the scenes (yes I know it that well to know what song is sung where, what scene is where, and all the words to the songs). But I am still glad we went. It was a wonderful night! We went with Krystal and our two good friends Shae and Matt.
One more thing, a few weeks ago, my little brother Matt came to spend the weekend with us. We got to go to one of his soccer games. He is getting really good. Here are a couple pictures from that event.

Blessings in Disguise!
I have been really thinking the past week or so about all the things in our lives that we thought were trials and ended up becoming such blessings. It's amazing at how when you put your life in the Lords hands things don't turn out how you planned or expected, they turn out even better!
One of these unexpected blessings is Kelvin's school. His academic adviser told him a couple years ago that he didn't need to take a certain class that was normally required because of his internship with Lockheed Martin. The next semester we found out that she was WRONG and now it was going to take an extra year for him to graduate because you have to take the classes in a certain order and they are only offered one semester a year. We were very frustrated by this news and him having to be in school for another year. Especially when that last year he would only be taking 1 class. Two of his classes this year are with the group that would have graduated the year after he did and he has gotten to know them pretty well, he is doing his senior project with them. After talking with a few of them he found out that the normal schedule to graduate on time requires them to take 5 mechanical engineering classes. Not only that but ALL the classes have a 5 hour lab along with them and a tremendous amount of homework. Now, Kelvin is really smart and he took 3 of those classes last spring semester and they were horrendous!! Very difficult classes, and so add on top of that the 2 more engineering classes they are taking with him this semester and you have yourself a perfect storm. He feels so bad for the people taking all 5 at the same time because he knows what they are against and it's not going to be a good semester for them. (For those who don't realize, Mechanical Engineering is a very difficult major. It's not just putting pieces of things together to make a mechanical object. I have been surprised at just how many people don't realize how difficult his major and classes are. A lot of people drop out or can't pass the beginning classes.) But because of this lady's careless mistake (that she claims she never made), he has been spared. Either way, he would have done poorly in his classes or gotten burned out by the end of that semester. The way it has played out has become such a blessing in our lives. Not only with him being able to be keep a reasonable work load and keep up his GPA, but his last year he will be able to work almost full time. With the work study job he has now, his boss knows the vice president of ATK (an engineering firm here in Utah) very well and has offered to introduce Kelvin to him. This could put another internship opportunity for a different company right in our laps! And we wouldn't have to move anywhere for the summer. (We are getting very tired of that.) Things are falling into place left and right and opportunities are coming our way we never thought possible because of one mistake. There are many many different examples I could give you of how the Lord has blessed our lives through these so called "trials". He has been so good to us and has taught us both so much about relying on Him, our faith, and each other. We may not have the worldly goods right now, or the high paying jobs and a house. But I wouldn't trade what we have experienced for anything. We are both being prepared for what life will bring down the road and what the Lord has planned for us both to accomplish here. So here's to those blessings in disguise! You never know what the Lord will throw at you, but you can be sure you will be the better for it.

Ahh, the Memories!!
A while back I went to my parents and brought back all the copies of my pictures from over the years. We are scanning them into the computer so we can have them digitally as well as the hard copy. As I have been going through them, I have found some precious photos of Matt when he was little. He and I have been buddies most of his life. There are a lot of pictures taken with the family that he is holding my hand or next to me. One time, when he came over to my very first apartment, we had a little photo shoot. The pictures are to die for they are so dang cute!!!!! So sit back and enjoy the product of about 10 years ago..........

These are the only ones that we have scanned in the computer thus far of him. But believe me, there are more to come of my little brother who is growing up so fast!
