Soccer, the Zoo and my Favorite Restaurant

We had a great weekend! Friday we went and picked up Felicia and Jordan to give Ed some time to relax without the kids. We went to the park, played games and watched movies. Then on Saturday we went to Kelvin's soccer game and then to the zoo. The soccer game was really good and my fabulous man scored most of the goals! He basically won the game for his team single handed! (Hey, a girl has the right to brag about her husband being the best, right??) He was so good and he had a lot of fun. I tried to get a good picture of him scoring, but the camera takes pictures 2 seconds after you push the button so it was always just a little too late. Maybe next time I will have figured out the timing and can get a good shot! It was really good for him to get out and play. Most of the semester has been him doing homework and then going to work. He never really got a lot of time to play. But when you are in school to be a Mechanical Engineer, you don't have time to do much of anything else. The classes are killers! Needless to say he is so excited to be done in a couple years.

Isn't he awesome!

He had just missed a shot in this picture but was so close!

My friend Haley, Felicia and I. Haley's husband was playing too.

After the game we went to the zoo with the kiddos. We went with them last year and had a lot of fun. Our camera's batteries died so we didn't get any pictures. Our other friend Matt Welling came with us and he took pictures for us. We don't have them yet so they are not with this blog. After we dropped the kiddo's off we went home and got ready for the night! Ever since we have been married I have wanted to go to my favorite restaurant in the World! Tepanyaki in Utah is a Japanese Steakhouse and like a Hibachi Grill. They cook the food on a big grill in front of you and you get great entertainment from the chef. The food is fa nominal but unfortunately so are the prices! This is why it is not a common occurrence to go. In fact, in our whole year and a half of marriage, we hadn't yet been. So this year, I insisted we go. I saved the birthday money my parents gave me and we invited our friends and went out for a birthday/goodbye celebration! It was SO much fun! Everyone had a blast and our chef was hilarious! When we first got there, there were a ton of high school students standing outside. They were all dressed up and we assumed it was for the Prom. In the middle of them all my friend Joey jumped out and yelled "Happy Birthday!" The high school kids then started to sing to me and the boys all got together and made an arch for me to walk through to get inside the restaurant all while they were singing to me! I was laughing so hard and a little embarrased. It's awesome though to have attention like that occasionally. When we got inside the kids left and I asked my friend if she put them up to it. She laughed and said she had nothing to do with it they just did it! So cute!

Kelvin thought it was so cute that I was SO excited to be there. I tend to act like a little kid when I get excited and was dancing when I was eating, wide eyed and a huge grin the whole night!

The love of my life and very best friend! Thank you baby for my wonderful night! You mean the world to me.

Party Time!!

Last night was the night that my family got together to celebrate all the birthdays in May. We did it early in the month so Kelvin and I could be there because we leave for Texas in a week. It was a lot of fun! We had Taco Salad, German Chocolate cake, and apple pie. I love German chocolate cake and Amy wanted the pie so everybody got something they wanted. Below are a ton of pictures. We took more, but I don't think that Nathan can hold still for 2 seconds because most of his were blurry and awful. He had a great time with his presents and as you can see from the pictures below, so did everyone else!

Nathan with his presents. We got him the candy and I think he ate all of it before the night was over. Pretty sure that he had some help from his siblings though!

He got to blow out the candles for the three of us. (It was Nathan, Amy, and my birthday's this month.)

Everyone having fun with his toys!

And of course, what is a night full of boys without a little wrestling!

I can't believe how big this kid keeps getting!

And of course....us! Sorry that the picture is not very good. We didn't have our camera so we used my parents and we didn't change the settings so the picture was taken too close.

This was my birthday present from my wonderful husband. Lately I have been wanting to play Mario Brothers from the Old School Nintendo. He looked everywhere and found a new console that just came out that plays both the Nintendo and the Super Nintendo games. It's called the Retro Duo and we have LOVED it! We took it to my parents house and my brothers were all sorts of excited. Stephen was the only one who played with Kelvin, but everyone was intently watching. This is Stephen and Kelvin playing Super Mario.

We have had a great weekend. One other funny moment that I have to share was on Sunday night. We went to Marta's for dinner and the Montanares were there as well. We were all talking and having a great time when I walked over to Kelvin and started to play with his hair. He was bending over petting the dog when I look up and see Kelvin walk out of one of the rooms. I then looked down at whose hair I was playing with and it was Felipe!!!! He just got off his mission a few months ago and we had just met that night. I was so embarrassed! Kelvin laughed and laughed and then Felipe turned around and realized it was me who had been playing with his hair, he thought it was Jennifer trying to get his attention. Then of course everyone was in the kitchen and realized my mistake and had a great laugh. In my defense, they both have the same hair and look very similar from behind. They were both wearing white tee shirts that night as well! I tend to do embarrassing things a lot. A few months before Kelvin and I got married, I was at the movies with a bunch of people. I had my arm on the arm rest and was playing with something at the end of the arm rest. I couldn't figure out what it was and when I went to look, I saw the guy sitting next to me looking right at me and my hand was on his knee! What more can I say!

"The second set of Ten Commandments"

One of my dad's customers sent this newspaper clipping to us and I loved it so much I thought I would post it on my blog. It was posted in the Utah Daily Herald and it's by Harvey Mackay. Obviously I am condensing the article a little bit, but if you would like a copy just let me know.

I. Thou shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.

II. Thou shall not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass.

III. Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them, for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.

IV. Thou shall face each problem as it comes. You can only handle one at a time anyway. (In one of his favorite Peanut's cartoon strip Linus says to Charlie Brown "There is no problem so big it cannot be run away from." Thought this was too funny to leave out.)

V. Thou shall not take problems to bed with you, for they make very poor bedfellows.

VI. Thou shall not borrow other people's problems. They can better care for them than you can.

VII. Thou shall not try to relive yesterday. For good or ill, it is forever gone.

VIII. Thou shall be a good listener, for only when you listen do you hear ideas different from your own.

IX. Thou shall not become "bogged down" by frustration, for 90 percent of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action.

X. Thou shall count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.

A little forgetful!

For some reason I can't seem to remember to get all the pictures on one blog. That's ok though because it just saves some fun for later! There was one video that Kelvin took of our niece Samantha that we wanted to post for Dave and Paula. She was affectionately named Pebbles at on Sunday because of her adorable hair. So here you go......

Pranksters and Some Family Fun

Today was my cousin Brad's homecoming. After serving in the Fort Worth, Texas mission he came home just in time to spend 45 min with his little brother Mike in the MTC just before he flew out to Colombia to serve his mission. Brad looks like a Pratt, talks like a Pratt and no one can deny that he is definitely a Pratt! We went to the farewell and had an awesome time! I love my family SO much! They are so much fun. There was family there that I had not seen in a long time. We had a blast as you can tell from the pictures. Sorry there are a lot of them, but there are a lot of us and what you see here are only the handful that were able to come. But when we opened the door to leave this morning we found this.....

One of our friends taped newspaper in front of our door. I guess putting newspaper in front of an apartment door is the equivalent of toilet papering your house? Anyway it was funny, even though there was a thumb tack on one of the corners that we took out and I ended up stepping on it barefoot later in the day. I thought we had gotten rid of it and stepped out to say a quick hello to one of my friends without any shoes on and you can guess the rest!

When we got to our car it too was a victim!! They saran wrapped it! We laughed so hard! We don't know who did it yet but we will find out.

My cousin Jen, her husband Kennedy and their son Kaleen. And of course I am also in the picture!

My cousin Brian his wife Aubrey and their little girl Celeste.

This is Lindy! I used to do her hair when she was a little girl. She is all grown up and in college now.

Matt and Dad hanging out on the couch.

The trio!

Those in our immediate family that were able to make it.

These are the Pratt cousins who came. Believe me if you had us all lined up it would have to be a panoramic picture! We have tons of fun though.

My aunt and uncle Steve and Laurie with Jen (their daughter), Kennedy and Kaleen.

This is us with Brad. I think he was glad he didn't have to have another summer in Texas dressed like this.

My aunt and uncle Craig and Angela with Brad (their son) and Brad's girlfriend. She waited for him while he was gone and things have picked up right where they left off! She seems sweet and I am excited to get to know her better.

Pebbles......

and Bam Bam!!!

Someone is ready to go home! ;)

More Easter Pictures

I thought we had taken more pictures on Easter than the ones I found on the computer and then realized this morning that they were all still on the camera. So here are the missing pictures. Sorry!

Here is us with our candy. We also got two seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond for each other. They were so cheap at Walmart.

Easter Weekend

As you can probably tell, it has been a little while since our last update. My parents took my little brother Matt to Disneyland so I have been running the family business all week with my brother Dave. Since I have to drive to Provo everyday and then back, it's been a long week and I am SO greatful for the weekend. I think I listened to the Twilight soundtrack about 10 times at work (it's really good.....Thanks Krystal!!!)

We had a great Easter Sunday. After a wonderful day at church, we had dinner with Marta and Ed and the kids. I guess I should add Daisy in there (the dog) since she likes Kelvin so much. Whenever we go over she gets all excited and practically follows him around wanting him to play with her. He doesn't admit it very often but he really likes her too. He is definitely a dog person but usually likes the medium to big dogs. He is not a fan of the small ones (thinks they are too yappy) but she has gotten into his heart, it's so sweet. The only other small dog I can think of that he likes is Lucy my brother and sisters dog. The dinner was wonderful and then Felicia and I colored eggs and watched "America's Funniest Home Videos" while Kelvin and Jordan played computer games. I must say though that we got spoiled! One of our friends played the Easter bunny this year and dropped off a bunch of stuff. It was quite the Easter basket. Marta and Ed gave us Easter candy and my parents gave us a bunch of Emergency Preparedness supplies. It was quite the holiday. Lots of fun and candy (anyone want some????) and an all around great day. My parents have been doing Emergency Preparedness stuff for a while now with every Holiday since we have gotten older. On Christmas we got a dutch oven! It was so awesome. If you didn't know already, they are VERY into food storage and being prepared. I have learned a lot from them and still have a lot more to learn. When Kelvin and I moved into our first place, I had more food storage that I had stored under my bed than anything else. He was a little shocked, but I believe in being ready for anything and guess what.....It came in handy this year. We have mostly depleted everything I had stocked up! Anyway, off my little tangent and on to some pictures!

This is what our friend gave us! It does not include what we got from Ed and Marta and my parents.

We looked at the Nutrition Section on the big chocolate bunnies just for fun and were shocked by the fat content.

Our friend Aaron gave these shirts to us and Kelvin was VERY proud to wear his. Mine is way too big but I like to wear it around the house. There were a few of them left at his work apparently, and he brought us about 4 shirts.

A random picture that Kelvin took while I was getting ready one day.

And the finale.....A picture of the cutest couple in the world! OK...... so I might be a little biased. And I don't even like this picture of us very much.
